About Me
Farah Kurdi-Villate is a licensed psychotherapist (LCSW) specializing in reproductive and women’s mental health, couples therapy, and relationship support. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Marquette University.

Farah works with individuals and couples navigating life’s meaningful transitions, from fertility and pregnancy to postpartum adjustment and parenthood. In addition to her work with couples and reproductive mental health, she provides therapy for individuals experiencing mood disorders, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, confidence issues, and challenges related to self-love and personal growth.

Her approach is holistic, integrating mind, body, and relational wellness, and is rooted in compassion, evidence-informed techniques, and a deep understanding of the unique experiences of women and families. Farah is multilingual and multicultural, offering sessions in both English and Spanish, and draws on her diverse experiences to create a safe, validating space where clients can heal, build resilience, and reconnect with their sense of self.

Beyond her clinical work, Farah is a first-time mom to a 7-month-old, Leo. She is an avid traveler, animal lover (especially of her two dogs, Rufus & Bali), and the oldest of nine siblings. Farah treasures good books, delicious food, and in her free time, she enjoys painting pottery.
She has received specialized training in Gottman Couples Therapy and holds certification in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International (PSI). In addition, she serves as a guest lecturer with Alas-Wings, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowerment, advocacy, and support for Hispanic/Latina breast cancer survivors, a cause close to her heart, as her own mother is a breast cancer survivor.

Specializing in:
Reproductive Mental Health
Relationships &
Couples Therapy
Mood Disorders
Therapy for reproductive mental health provides support through the many emotional challenges connected to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. Therapy creates a safe space to process experiences such as infertility, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and the identity shifts that come with becoming a parent. Therapy helps individuals and couples find resilience, meaning, and healing during these deeply transformative seasons of life.
We heal in relationships; we also hurt in relationships. Relationship therapy examines all of your relationships (work colleagues, significant other, friends, and family members). Together, we find ways for you to connect with the people that matter the most.

Couples therapy is a collaborative process designed to help couples navigate challenges and improve the quality of their relationship. The goal is to enhance intimacy, empathy, understanding and trust.
An umbrella term for depression and anxiety, mood disorders can interfere with daily functioning, relationships, and overall quality of life. Effective psychotherapy treatment is crucial for restoring well-being.
Burn-out &
Stress
Burn-out is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion often caused by prolonged stress, overwhelming workloads, and lack of balance between responsibilities and resources. This often manifests in a "freeze response", one of the common responses to stress alongside fight and flight. Development of coping skills is invaluable to manage stress effectively. The goal is to cultivate resilience, restore balance and foster a sense of fulfillment and purpose.
Self-Love &
Self-Esteem
Many of us were never taught how to foster a sense of self-love.
Self-confidence enables individuals to believe in their abilities and tackle challenges with resilience.
Self-love involves accepting oneself unconditionally and nurturing a loving relationship with oneself.
Self-esteem reflects one's overall sense of self-worth and value.
Menstrual Cycle and Mental Health
Menstrual cycles and subsequent hormonal imbalances can have significant effects on mental health, influencing mood, energy levels, and overall well-being. Fluctuations in hormones like estrogen and progesterone can lead to symptoms such as irritability, mood swings, anxiety and depression. Therapy plays a crucial role in helping individuals navigate these challenges.
